Dear Greenwood Families,

Juniors will participate in the state administration of the SAT provided by the Kentucky Department of Education. Beginning with the 2025–2026 school year, the SAT replaced the ACT as Kentucky’s statewide college admission exam. Participation in this statewide administration does not require a parent or guardian consent signature.

Greenwood High School will administer the SAT to all juniors on Tuesday, March 3, 2026. In addition to these juniors, sophomores who signed up will also sit for the PSAT exam on March 3. Please review the SAT School Day Student Guide to learn more about the SAT and what your student can expect on test day.

As part of the SAT state administration, students will have the opportunity to send their SAT scores to up to four colleges or universities at no cost. This option allows students to share their results directly with institutions of their choice and may assist in the college admissions process. Please note that selecting colleges or universities to receive SAT scores is completely optional. Students may choose fewer than four schools or elect not to send scores at this time, with no penalty for opting out.

Students will also have the optional opportunity to sign up for BigFuture School by providing their mobile number during exam setup. After testing, students will receive a link to download the free mobile app, which offers college and career planning resources. Additional details can be found in the BigFuture School Flyer.

If you or your student have questions about the SAT, please contact our Building Assessment Coordinator, Courtney Loftis, at courtney.loftis@warren.kyschools.us, or visit www.collegeboard.org. The full Greenwood SAT Student Readiness Check Instructions can be found at this link. These steps must be completed by SAT and PSAT students prior to March 3.
