PTSO

 

The main focus of the GHS PTSO is to improve communication and relations between parents, teachers and students, to increase involvement, and to support the teachers and staff at Greenwood High School.

We would like to officially introduce our Greenwood families to the Greenwood PTSO. The PTSO is quite similar to your elementary and middle school PTO’s. One main difference is that we don’t fundraise and all of the projects we plan for the school year come from donations from the families of Greenwood High School.

Some examples of projects we like to accomplish during the year are:

• Back to School Breakfast for Staff
• Loaves of Thanks - homemade breads and muffins for the staff
• Christmas surprises for Teachers

We can’t make these things happen without your help. Any monetary donation is greatly appreciated and will be used to make Greenwood a better place for our children. If you would like to make a donation to the PTSO please make your check to Greenwood PTSO and return with your student to school.

The PTSO also offers grants for teachers. The teachers will submit these proposals to the PTSO and we try to fulfill all that we can. We try to cover all of the needs but sometimes we can only fulfill partial payment. Some of the requests we have filled in the past are for basic school supplies, equipment for the room, special projects for the classes. The only way we can continue to fulfill the wishes of our teachers if through your donations.

We also would like to make aware of school supplies that you can start finding on sale now. We will collect the following items so we can provide them to the teachers at Christmas:

• $5 gift cards to Wal-Mart or Target
• Clorox wipes
• dry erase markers
• highlighters
• paper clips
• pencils
• pens
• post it notes
• sharpies
• staples
• tissues
